Endurica Wins US National Award
Leading US provider of fatigue analysis tools for elastomers wins US national award that recognises exceptional cutting edge technologies
Findlay, Ohio – 18th January 2021 – Endurica LLC has received the 2020 United States Small Business Administration (SBA) Tibbetts Award which recognises companies that best exemplify the spirit and intent of the SBA’s Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) programme. Since 1982 this programme has been supporting the most innovative research entrepreneurs in science, engineering and technology start, grow and transition into high-growth companies.
Founded in 2008, Endurica provides the world’s most comprehensive tools and workflows for fatigue analysis of elastomers. Its simulation software, material characterisation services and testing instruments are used by OEMs, rubber part suppliers and raw materials suppliers across the globe to speed up product development, reduce costs and get durability right the first time.
Endurica now joins the ranks of past Tibbetts winners including Qualcomm, 23andMe, and Symantec. Of 38 companies recognised this year, Endurica is the only company from the rubber industry sector and the only Ohio-based recipient.
Company founder and president Dr William Mars reflected that “I am very proud to receive this prestigious recognition on behalf of our team. We won the US Army as our first paying customer through the SBIR program, and this enabled us to commercialise game-changing tools for analysing the fatigue performance of elastomers. Over the last decade, we’ve continued to improve our tools and the business. Today, we have a growing user base, six of the top 12 global rubber product producers (by revenue) are using Endurica solutions in their applications, and there are hundreds of trained users globally.”
Dr Will Mars is a world-renowned expert in the failure mechanics of rubber. He has received several awards for his scientific contributions and innovations and is a respected speaker at key international conferences and events for the rubber in engineering community.
As part of the honour, Endurica is highlighted on the SBA website which notes “Endurica was founded to help the industry get durability right by revolutionising rubber product design throughout the world.”
