The International Elastomer Conference (IEC) 2021 is to be held in Pittsburgh, PA, 4th-7th October, the first major live event for the rubber industry.

After Rubber Division, ACS was able to bring the industry together again for the first time in over a year at its Spring 199th Technical Meeting, a hybrid event held in Independence, OH, all eyes are now on Pittsburgh later in the year.

The IEC is an international event for the global rubber industry and for many is one of the most important activities in their calendar year. The technical meeting and exhibition attract delegates and visitors from industry and academia worldwide. The IEC completely embodies the mission of Rubber Division, ACS: to enhance science, technology and business across the evolving elastomeric community.

At this year’s IEC, Rubber Division, ACS celebrates a very special milestone: the 200th Technical Meeting & Annual Student Symposium. To mark this occasion, “Frontiers” symposia are being organised to address the past, present and future of key areas in rubber science:

• Frontiers of Rubber Science: Reinforcement of Rubber
• Frontiers of Rubber Science: Additives & Applications

The Technical Meeting will also feature innovative research in the following topics:

Many top academic organisations participate at the IEC’s Annual Student Symposium, bringing with them the most promising rubber chemistry, technology and engineering students who will become the next generation of researchers and leaders in their fields. The Symposium comprises of oral presentations and poster sessions on the Expo floor and generous financial prizes are awarded to the most outstanding entries.

The IEC Expo is where customers and suppliers come together and include companies who provide raw materials, ingredients, products and equipment to the industry.
