2025 ended with the IOM3 Elastomer Group Industry & Academia event with Christmas networking drinks at the IOM3 HQ in London on Friday 19th December 2025!

The in-person only event had 23 short talks from across industry and academia, sharing emerging ideas and capabilities while highlighting the real problems industry is working to solve. Creating a forum where these perspectives can meet is what makes this event so valuable, helping ensure academic research stays connected to real-world needs and that industry does not reinvent solutions already under development.

The programme covered a wide range of topics, including experimental and processing challenges, modelling, sustainability and circularity, recycling strategies, and emerging smart elastomer applications. Discussions continued into a lively networking drinks reception afterwards.

The next meeting will take place on 27 March 2026 and will return to the traditional format, featuring five 20-minute talks with dedicated time for questions and discussion, focusing on Thermoplastic Elastomers (TPEs) and Thermoplastic Vulcanizates (TPVs).
