On a glorious summer day at Manchester University, Rubber Heart had a tabletop at the Manchester Polymer Group’s Conference “Plastics and Rubbers on the Net Zero Carbon Timeline”. It was an opportunity to reconnect with old friends and meet some of the talented new generation of polymer scientists whose research will undoubtedly help shape the future of the industry.

Rubber Heart was there proudly representing our partners: Rubber Division, ACS, ACE Laboratories and Endurica. All of us are committed to supporting the efforts in the global rubber industry to reach their sustainability goals through education and networking, expert compound development and testing, and powerful simulation software for rubber product durability.

We were treated to eleven diverse presentations from industry leaders and academics on solutions that could address the environmental impacts of plastics and elastomers. They offered valuable insights into innovative sustainable raw materials, designing for easier recyclability and breakthroughs in recycling technologies, crucial to tackling the significant challenges currently faced by the plastics, packaging and rubber industries.

A big thank you to the MPG for organising the event, and to all speakers and fellow exhibitors. It was a great day of learning and networking – here’s to more days of innovation and collaboration!
