Rubber Heart March 2021 News

Hertford, UK – 16th March 2020 It’s been a year since Rubber Heart’s first event visit, last domestic and international event (all in the space of two months!) and we were saddened to see that Tire Tech Expo and DTK 2021 planned for the summer have understandably been postponed. However, it’s good news to see the Call for Abstracts for Rubber Division, ACS IEC 2021 Technical Meeting & Annual Student Symposium. This great international event will be held from 5th – 7th October 2021 in Pittsburgh, a fantastic and vibrant city and will be the first large gathering for our industry for what feels like a very long time.

To celebrating it being the 200th(!) Technical Meeting, additional special “Frontiers” symposia have been organised to address the past, present and future of key areas in rubber science. Make sure you get your submission in by 3rd May 2021 for them to be considered for the programme – you can find out all the details here.

The RD team have put in so much work to organise a safe Spring Meeting that will be held from 27th – 29th April in Independence, Ohio and it looks an impressive programme with some eminent speakers so do take a look, this is will be a full hybrid event, meaning you can view all presentations live online. Presentations will also be available after the meeting for on demand viewing.

Over the coming months Rubber Division, ACS extensive, online educational programme continues with some excellent training opportunities for industry professionals and students – take a look to see the full programme here.

Following the enormous success of RDs women’s events at the past two IECs, a new online series – WORD Conversations – begins on 24th March featuring the first ever woman Goodyear Medallist Dr Judit Puskas sharing her story. Terry DeLapa – the first Woman Chair of Rubber Division, ACS – will be the featured guest at the second in the series on 26th May 2021.
